And here we are, finally, in a small and very sweet place: the Dog Cemetery, where my predecessors, the guardians of the house, continue to live on in the memories and stories that I myself guard.

Here rests Dini, the white poodle who witnessed the war; Carlo and Sandra Sigurtà decided to create this place for her. Beside her rests Berry, the brave Saint Bernard who accompanied Carlo Sigurtà through the snow of Madonna di Campiglio.

And then there's Liù and Caisina, the sweethearts. Caisina was born in Cascais, Portugal, in the car of the Sigurtà Counts, on the occasion of a visit to King Umberto II; they named her after the town. There are Lupo, the faithful companion in Spain, and the Belgian Shepherds, Lupo II and Carla, who protected the house in Seville. Finally, there is my friend Lucky, the wise Golden Retriever, bringer of joy and particularly dear to the family.

For me, it is an honour to remember them all, every day, in this place full of love and timeless stories. For, as the poet says, "The dog is the soul of the house. Without him, it is only a refuge: with him, it becomes a home".

And now that you, too, know the stories of this house, I can say goodbye. Thank you for following me on this wonderful journey through time at Villa Sigurtà.
